First storm of ’24

ROCK HALL — A variable message sign set up near the intersection of Rock Hall Avenue and Main Street advises those coming into Rock Hall of possible flooding as a result of the first winter storm of the new year, Jan. 9-10.

Many yards in Rock Hall were underwater, roads were closed due to high water and a large debris field was left after the receding tide.

Police Chief Bill Dempsey said most people “took heed and stayed indoors” during the storm that dumped several inches of rain in the area.
