CHESTERTOWN — WCTR Radio, a locally owned and independently operated radio station based in Chestertown, is expanding its broadcast reach with the addition of a new frequency at 100.1 FM.
This will extend WCTR’s classic hits, community news, weather, sports and local programming to listeners across Queen Anne’s County, northern Talbot County and Caroline County, according to a news release.
Since first going on the air in 1963, WCTR has been providing local news, weather reports, community updates and music.
“WCTR has always been about connecting the Eastern Shore with local voices and local stories,” General Manager Leslie Sea said in the news release.
She said adding 100.1 FM “allows us to bring our classic hits, nautical weather, traffic updates and local news to even more communities, while staying true to our independent, community-focused roots.”
Listeners can now tune into WCTR on 106.9 FM, 100.1 FM and 1530 AM, as well as stream live at www.wctr.com.
