STILL POND — Making the turn at the four corners in Still Pond, cyclists participating in the Chestertown Lions Club’s annual Jim Gent Memorial Bay to Bay Bike Ride on Sunday, June 22 enter the home stretch.
The event begins and ends at the firehouse in Betterton, no matter the route — ranging from 26 to 102 miles.
A total of 140 riders registered for the 2025 event.
Jim Gent, who passed away in 2021, was an avid cyclist and dedicated member of the Chestertown Lions Club who helped to establish the Bay to Bay ride in 1986. He is credited with growing the fundraising idea into the successful annual event it has become.
Proceeds are earmarked for the Leader Dogs for the Blind program and other Lions Club vision support projects.
