CHESTERTOWN — The Bookplate in downtown Chestertown is joining indie bookstores across the country in celebrating Independent Bookstore Day on the last Saturday in April. This year that date is April 26.
Every store is unique, and every party is different.
In Chestertown, The Bookplate will celebrate with raffle baskets, snacks and discounts including 25% off for the first 20 customers of the day. The store, located at 112 S. Cross St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As an added attraction, retired bookstore cat Keke will be on-site for one day only.
