CHESTERTOWN — Charles H. “Charlie” Joiner III can now add grand marshal to his extensive résumé.
A lifelong Kent County resident, Joiner will lead the Chestertown Tea Party Festival parade on Saturday morning, May 24.
The Colonial-themed parade will kick off at 10 a.m. from the upper reaches of High Street.
In selecting Joiner as the grand marshal, the festival’s executive committee took into consideration his “wealth of experience and community involvement.”
A graduate of Kent County High School and Washington College, Joiner has been employed as a technical director for more than 25 years in addition to working the family farm in the Worton area that he grew up on.
“Charlie showcases his expertise and dedication to the community through his many volunteer roles to include providing technical support for the area’s many festivals, local churches and service on the Board of Directors for the Garfield Center for the Arts,” a news release states.
