Chester River Chorale’s concert of carols is Dec. 13-14

CHESTERTOWN — The Chester River Chorale will celebrate the tradition of caroling with favorites “old and new” in two holiday concerts next week. “A Feast of Carols” will be offered Friday, Dec. 13 (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, Dec. 14 (4 p.m.) at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, 905 Gateway Drive.

A news release states, “This program features beloved arrangements by David Willcocks, John Rutter, Alfred Burt, Ola Gjeilo, Rollo Dilworth, and more, all celebrating the rich history of wassailing on a grand scale with our 100-voice community choir and professional chamber orchestra.”

New this year, you can reserve your tickets online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-feast-of-carols-chester-river-holiday-2024-tickets-1063880026799.

The suggested donation is $20 per person; admission is free for children.

They also will be collecting nonperishable food items for the Kent County Food Pantry at the door; please contribute, if you can.

As of Dec. 3, there are no more pre-reservations available for the Dec. 13 concert, but there will be walk-in tickets available.

A combined Chester River Chorale and Easton Choral Arts Society will present a special concert at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wilmington, Delaware on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.

“If you missed our Chestertown concert, or just want to hear us again, we’d love to have you join us in Wilmington,” the news release states.

The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
