CHESTERTOWN — The Chestertown Lions Club’s annual spring chicken barbecue is Saturday, June 7 at the usual spot — on the property of Trinity Lutheran Church at the corner of Greenwood and Washington avenues, across from the main entrance to Washington College.
The meal of fresh-off-the-grill barbecued chicken quarter, slaw, apple sauce, roll and cookie will be served from 10 a.m. until the food lasts.
The cost is $15 per meal.
Tickets are available ahead of time from Lions Club members, or can be purchased on-site on Saturday.
This is a carryout-only event.
Proceeds go to Lions’ vision support projects such as Leader Dogs, eye research, free eyeglasses and transport to eye doctors, as well as school vision exams.
Locally, the Chestertown Lions Club hosts the annual Halloween parade, coordinates high school internships, and funds college scholarships, the One School One Book program, road cleanups and youth sports programs.
