Chestertown Lions Club chicken barbecue is May 4

CHESTERTOWN — The Lions Club here on Saturday, May 4 will hold its annual chicken barbecue on the grounds of Trinity Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Greenwood and Washington avenues.

The cost is $15 per dinner, takeaway only.

You can purchase tickets ahead of time from Chestertown Lions Club members, or on-site on the day of the event.

Food will be available from 11 a.m. until supply lasts.

Ticket holders should arrive promptly before the food is gone.

“By enjoying some delicious fresh-off-the-grill barbecued chicken with their famous secret sauce along with loaded sides, you’ll be giving back to our community and the world,” a news release states.

Proceeds will benefit Lions’ vision support projects such as leader dogs, eye research, free eyeglasses and transport to eye doctors’ appointments, and school vision exams, as well as other Lions Club service initiatives that include the annual Chestertown Halloween Parade, youth sports, internships for high school students, scholarships for college students and the One School One Book program.
