Chestertown Lions Club-sponsored Halloween parade is Nov. 1

CHESTERTOWN — The Lions Club here will host its annual Halloween parade on Saturday, Nov. 1, stepping off at 1:30 p.m.

The Chestertown Lions Club-sponsored parade, which has been a holiday staple for more than 50 years, will travel down High Street to Queen Street.

There will be marching bands, floats and costumed characters of all ages.

Cash prizes and gift certificates will be awarded to the judges’ favorites in various age groups, from preschool to adult.

Registration is from noon to 1:15 p.m.

Those in costume who intend to walk in the parade should queue up in front of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 508 High St. (near Kent Street).

Those who intend to participate as a float are expected to adhere to all safety precautions for their riders and the public. Floats, bands, animals and vehicles should line up on Dixon Drive at High Street.

The rain date is 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2.
