CHESTERTOWN — Due to hazardous road conditions, the result of a snow and ice storm over the weekend, the Town of Chestertown has pushed back its special election for two council seats from Tuesday, Jan. 27 to Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The polling locale is the Chestertown firehouse, 211 Maple Ave.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The candidates are John James Beloved and Andre DeMattia in Ward 3 and Marcus Goldman, Stephen J. Lozar and Ryan McGuire in Ward 4.
Absentee ballots will be available in person only Tuesday at the town office, 118 N. Cross St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chestertown residents who have registered with the Kent County Board of Elections can vote in town elections.
Only registered voters in Ward 3 will be eligible to vote for the candidates in Ward 3, and only registered voters in Ward 4 will be eligible to vote for the candidates in Ward 4.
The winner of the Ward 3 race will serve a full four-year term.
The winner of the Ward 4 race will serve the remaining two years on the term of Meghan Efland, the sitting council member who was elected mayor in November and was sworn in at the Jan. 5 mayor and council meeting.
