WORTON — The theme for this year’s planetarium holiday program at Kent County High School is “I’ll be home for Christmas,” inspired by the well-known song of the same name written in 1943 to honor soldiers and families separated during World War II.
“As usual the traditions of Christmas will be explored along with a good dose of the nighttime sky,” a news release states.
For more than 35 years, the program has been presented by the Kent County High School planetarium, longtime and now retired science teacher Dennis Herrmann and the high school’s radio station, 90.5 WKHS.
The dates for this year are Thursday and Friday, Dec. 11 and 12 and the following week on Dec. 15, 16, 18 and 19 — at 7 o’clock each night.
There is no admission fee.
Seasonal refreshments will be offered.
The Kent County Public Schools Education Foundation is fundraising to plan renovations to the planetarium. To learn more, see http://www.kent.k12.md.us/Foundation.aspx.
