ROCK HALL — The Little Free Pantry on Main Street in Rock Hall will be upgraded this week, beginning tomorrow.
According to a news release, the pantry was purchased by No Child Goes Hungry, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the elimination of childhood hunger, one kid, one meal at a time.
The Little Free Pantry is located in the driveway at 5764 N. Main St., behind the spiral staircase and Little Free Library.
The pantry provides resources such as nonperishable food, dry goods, feminine care products and diapers to Kent County residents and visitors.
It is open and accessible 24/7.
The original Little Free Pantry was installed in 2021.
Little Free Pantries, also known as “Blessing Boxes,” began in Arkansas in 2016 as a grassroots movement to combat food insecurity.
“They are a way for community members to help each other without barriers or limitations, while retaining anonymity,” the news release states.
Community members are asked to join in “Pack the Pantry” from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22.
