CHESTERTOWN — The air was thick and muggy on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1, and the high humidity made playing conditions unpleasant on the artificial turf at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium where Washington hosted Marymount in women’s soccer.
Trying to beat the heat, some players poured cold water down their backs, while others put bags of ice on their necks and heads.
Pictured here with the unconventional headwear is Washington junior midfielder/forward Maddy Gaydon of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
In the background is senior defender Andrea Norman of Fairfield, New Jersey pouring cold water down her back.
