CHESTERTOWN — The annual summertime sidewalk sales in downtown Chestertown known as Crazy Days will begin on Thursday, July 24 and continue through Saturday, July 26.
Some stores also will carry specials on Sunday, July 27.
Shops will open by 10 a.m. each day and have extended hours.
Crazy Days is sponsored by the Downtown Chestertown Association.
Deals can be found in men’s and women’s fashions, children’s clothing and toys, jewelry, home décor, crafts, kitchen items, books, artwork, art supplies, pampered pet must-haves and even musical instruments.
Eateries are posting Crazy Days specials, and the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County will sell hot dog lunches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
There are several extra-special offerings scheduled for Saturday, beginning with the third annual Ping-Pong ball drop.
At 10 a.m. on Memorial Row, a bucket of Ping-Pong balls will be dropped from a Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company ladder truck. The balls will contain Chestertown Cash, discounts and freebies at participating downtown shops, redeemable only on Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27. The limit is one Ping-Pong ball redemption per shop.
Clownin’ Around face painter will be in Fountain Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also in Fountain Park there will be corn hole, Jenga and Connect 4 games courtesy of the Chestertown Recreation Committee.
