WORTON — DFC Kasey Griffitts on Aug. 31 responded to Swamp Road to investigate a property damage crash. She determined that a trash truck struck a Betterton Volunteer Fire Company fire truck, and then left the scene.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, damage to the fire truck was “superficial.”

The trash truck could not be identified.

KENNEDYVILLE — Sgt. Nick Watson is investigating a Sept. 9 crash on Shallcross Wharf Road.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2008 Ford work truck struck a 2019 Ram truck that was parked on the shoulder of the road. The Ram truck sustained damage and could not be driven from the scene.

Police reported that the driver of the Ford truck left the scene, but has been identified.

ROCK HALL — DFC Michael Piasecki is investigating a single-vehicle crash Sept. 15 on South Hawthorne Avenue.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2017 Hyundai sports utility vehicle sustained damage and was towed from the scene.

MILLINGTON — Sgt. Nick Watson is investigating a Sept. 16 crash on Cypress Street.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer struck Sgt. Watson’s marked Kent County Sheriff’s Office Ford Explorer while Sgt. Watson was out of the vehicle directing traffic. The driver was identified as a male from Ashburn, Va.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
