STILL POND — The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate an Aug. 11 structure fire in the 13000-block of Fishing Valley Road, near what once was a Coast Guard station.
The structure was a single-family dwelling in the early stages of construction.
The construction crew reported the fire at 6:43 a.m., according to investigators.
No one was injured.
About 30 firefighters answered the alarm and brought the fire under control in 25 minutes.
Betterton Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responder, according to the fire marshal’s office.
Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company also responded.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
