CHESTERTOWN — Auditions for the Garfield Center for the Arts’ production of “The Rocky Horror Show” will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Anyone who attends the Aug. 8 audition may be asked to return to one of the other auditions.
A familiarity with the show or the movie is strongly recommended.
All roles are available for casting.
Auditions will be held at the Garfield Center for the Arts, 210 High St. in downtown Chestertown.
If anyone who wishes to audition is not able to make one of the scheduled dates and times listed above, special arrangements will be made.
To request special arrangements for an audition, contact the director, Steven Arnold, by email at sarnold@garfieldcenter.org.
The Garfield Center prefers to cast performers 18 and older. However, 16- and 17-year-olds may audition, and may be considered in casting, but only if they have permission of their parent or legal guardian to be in the show. An extra form will be provided, and a parent signature required, to demonstrate that permission.
To audition, you must be prepared to sing a song that demonstrates your singing ability and range.
Auditioners are strongly discouraged from singing a cappella. A piano will be available, but there will be no accompanist provided.
If an auditioner wishes to sing using piano sheet music, they must bring their own accompanist.
For karaoke-style accompaniments, a Bluetooth speaker will be provided for auditioners to connect to with their phone or other Bluetooth device.
The Garfield Center for the Arts does not have a way to play from CD tracks or thumb drive files.
Auditioners may be asked to read from the script.
All auditioners will be asked to participate in a dance audition. Auditioners must wear regular shoes. Please do not wear sandals or Crocs.
