CHESTERTOWN — Natalie Hagan and Annie Woodall have been appointed to serve as acting co-directors of the Kent County Public Library, effective Sept. 30.
Meantime, KCPL’s board of trustees is working through the process of selecting a permanent successor to Robert Bell, who had been the executive director since October of 2024.
According to an Oct. 10 news release announcing the change in leadership, Hagan with 11 years of service to the Kent County Public Library and Woodall with 19 years “have deep knowledge of the organization and the community it serves, making them well-positioned to lead the library during this transition period.”
KCPL will continue to operate as usual through this transition, with no disruption to collections, programs or services, according to the news release.
Hagan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida and a Master of Library and Information Science from Florida State University.
As director of technical services at KCPL, Hagan oversees acquiring and preparing library materials for community use; inter-library loan requests; maintaining library data and statistics; and proper functioning of all library technology and software.
Woodall holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Washington College and a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.
As director of public services at KCPL, Woodall oversees programming for adults; library publicity and marketing; selecting materials for the adult collection; reference services; and the library’s volunteer program.
She also serves as KCPL’s staff development coordinator and is a trained facilitator for Everyone Leads, a statewide leadership initiative for library employees.
According to its website, “Kent County Public Library provides a welcoming environment with a knowledgeable staff and access to information through responsive collections, services and technologies.”
