MASSEY — Maryland State Police are heading the investigation of a fatal crash involving two vehicles Wednesday morning.
James C. “Jimmy” Yeager Jr., 25, of Galena was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
He was the driver and sole occupant of a Ford van.
No other injuries were reported at the scene, according to a news release.

Around 7:23 a.m. July 9, troopers from the MSP barrack in Centreville responded to the area of southbound U.S. Route 301 at state Route 313 (Galena Road) for a report of a two-vehicle crash.
According to the preliminary investigation, a tractor-trailer was slowed and stopped at the railroad tracks, when for unknown reasons, was struck in the rear by the Ford van.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not identified in the news release.
Assistance on scene was provided by troopers from the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division and Aviation Command, as well as deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.
Once the crash investigation has been completed, findings will be submitted to the Office of the Kent County State’s Attorney, which will decide if charges will be filed.
