KENNEDYVILLE — The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of Friday’s early morning structure fire on the main street of Kennedyville.
Investigators have determined that the fire in the 11000-block of Augustine Herman Highway originated in the rear of the two-story, single-family home that was unoccupied, according to a news release.

A passerby reported the fire at 2:16 a.m.
Twenty firefighters responded and brought the fire under control in 50 minutes, according to the news release.
Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responder.
Loss to the structure is estimated to be $20,000 according to the news release.
No injuries were reported.
According to the OSFM and online records of the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation, the property owner is Devin Blom of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania. This is not their primary residence.
