Kappa Sigma pancake breakfast April 11 benefits Maryland veterans

CHESTERTOWN — Washington College’s chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity has a long and proud tradition of supporting veterans charities, primarily through its twice-a-year pancake breakfast.

Since its inception, the breakfast has raised more than $105,000 for the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign, a composite charity serving the medical, psychological, physical and housing needs of America’s veterans.

This semester’s pancake breakfast will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to noon in the parish hall of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, located at 101 N. Cross St. in downtown Chestertown. A donation of $8 gets you all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, juices and coffee.

This year, 100% of ticket sales and all donations will go to the Maryland Veterans Trust Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing grants and loans to Maryland veterans and their families to cover urgent needs like housing, utilities, medical care and transportation.

The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund awarded more than $1 million in 2025.
