KCHS coaches applaud spring athletes

WORTON — Kent County High School’s coaches, athletes and their families celebrated the successes of their spring seasons Tuesday night, May 20 in an assembly in the school auditorium. Most valuable performers, outstanding sportsmen and Coach’s Choice athletes were recognized.

They are listed here.

BASEBALL: Noah Iacona, most valuable player; Tanner Beck, outstanding sportsman; and Scottie Ford, Coach’s Choice.

GIRLS LACROSSE: Mary Jane Joiner, most valuable player for the third year in a row; Liza Loller, outstanding sportsman; and Jane Cleary, Coach’s Choice.

BOYS LACROSSE: Gabe Parr, most valuable player; Quentin Joiner, outstanding sportsman; and Dwan Harris, Coach’s Choice.

SOFTBALL: Kate Cannon, most valuable player for the third year in a row; Michelle Menequin, outstanding sportsman; and Paige Miller, Coach’s Choice.

GIRLS TENNIS: Nina Fahrman, most valuable player for the second year in a row; Sophie Cousineau, outstanding sportsman; and Misha Rau, Coach’s Choice.

BOYS TENNIS: Sebastien Cousineau, most valuable player for the second year in a row; Teo O’Brien, outstanding sportsman; and Robert Hague, Coach’s Choice.

GIRLS TRACK: Janey Depp, most valuable performer; Izabella Hinefelt, outstanding sportsman; and Ke’yare Hawkins, Coach’s Choice.

BOYS TRACK: Rah ‘Zir Wilson, most valuable performer; Jayden Larrier Thomas, outstanding sportsman; and Harrison Gibby, Coach’s Choice.

Also shout-outs should be given to recently crowned region champions Sebastien Cousineau in tennis, Ke’yare Hawkins in the shot put, Ramon “RJ” Peterson in the 200 meters and Rah ‘Zir Wilson in the 100 meters, high jump and long jump.

The Evening Enterprise offers congratulations to Peterson, who tied the school record in the 200 meters; Hawkins, who bettered her own school record in the discus; and Wilson, who established new school standards in the long jump and triple jump.
