KCHS grad Trice Moore is Shoreman of the Week after winning skeet, sporting clays tourney

CHESTERTOWN — Sophomore Trice Moore of Worton, a member of the Washington College trap and skeet program, is this week’s Shoreman of the Week.

He won skeet, sporting clays and high overall at the University of Delaware Kovaleski Memorial, formerly known as the Blue Hen Classic, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28-March 1.

There were 36 total competitors, representing Washington College, the University of Delaware and Virginia Tech.

The trap and skeet events were held at the Wilmington Trapshooting Association in Delaware.

The venue switched to the Oxford Gun Club in Pennsylvania on Sunday for the final event of the tournament, sporting clays.

Moore won high overall by breaking 214 of 250 targets.

In sporting clays, he broke 82 of 100.

Moore won the skeet event in a shoot-off after there was a three-way tie for first, with each breaking 47 of 50 targets.

He also competed in American trap, placing second after hitting 46 of 50 targets, and doubles trap.

This is the third career Shoreman of the Week honor for Moore, who is a 2024 graduate of Kent County High School.

Washington broke 999 out of 1,250 total targets to place first in team scoring. Virginia Tech (978) was second and the University of Delaware (950) was third.

Among Moore’s teammates is freshman David Daniels of Golts, a 2025 graduate of KCHS. He tied for fifth with 193 targets.
