CHESTERTOWN — Kent County High School is going “old school,” bringing back the traditional homecoming parade to downtown Chestertown.
This year’s parade is Friday, Oct. 2 along High Street, in conjunction with Chestertown’s First Friday activities.
The parade will step off at 6:30 p.m. with KCHS student groups, sports teams, clubs, class representatives, staff, the Brigade of Blue marching band and community members.
The parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m.
“We hope our KCHS families, alumni and community members will join us downtown to cheer on our students and celebrate Homecoming together,” said Principal Kris Hemstetter, a 1986 KCHS graduate.
On Saturday, Kent County will take on border rival Queen Anne’s in the homecoming football game. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for students.
At halftime, among other activities, the homecoming queen and king will be crowned and the Brigade of Blue will perform its show titled “Lost in TV Land” featuring theme songs from hit television shows.
The concession stand will be open; proceeds will benefit the high school’s Athletic Boosters Club.
Kent County High School is located at 25301 Lambs Meadow Road, Worton.
