KCHS’ music men

CHESTERTOWN — The Tea Party Festival here is so much more than celebrating Colonists thumbing their nose at Britain’s King George III over “taxation without representation” some 250 years ago. There are lots of artisans and food vendors, children’s activities, reenactors, a military encampment, a Heritage Village on the courthouse lawn and a spectacular parade down High Street — all in one day.

This year’s parade on Saturday morning, May 25 featured the inaugural performance of the Delmarva United Marching Band led by drum major Mark Mumford ’76, a former drum major of the Kent County High School marching band, and the debut of Joseph Donaldson (Class of 2025) as drum major of the KCHS Brigade of Blue marching band.

The Evening Enterprise will publish additional Tea Party Festival parade photos in the coming days, but we wanted to tip our hat now to KCHS drum majors past and present.
