CHESTERTOWN — Kent County Public Library has issued an open invitation to readers of all ages to participate in its Color Our World summer reading experience.
The community-wide celebration of reading runs from now through through Aug. 16.
Once you register, you can choose from a wide variety of activities to earn summer reading activity badges and prizes all summer long.
You can register online at kentcountylibrary.beanstack.org or in person at any KCPL location.
As soon as you are registered, use Beanstack (available via a free app or through your internet browser) to begin playing the summer reading game.
If you prefer to track your progress on paper, pick up a printed gameboard at the library.

Celebrate the start of summer with giant games, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and more at KCPL’s summer reading kickoff events. All ages, from babies to adults, are welcome.
While supplies last, Kent County Public Library will be giving away free summer reading T-shirts to people who register for the summer reading game at these events.
There will be three kickoff events, one at each KCPL location.
Rock Hall Branch

Wednesday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to noon.
North County Branch
119 N. Main St., Building E, Suite 3, Galena
Friday, June 20 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Chestertown Branch
408 High St.
Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
No registration is required.

The kickoff events are just the beginning.
Kent County Public Library’s summer events run from June 16 through Aug. 16, and include craft programs, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) events, special performers, storytime at the park and field trips in the community — among other fun stuff.
