Kent County grad Ervin earns player of the week nod in conference field hockey

BRYN MAWR, Pa. — Senior Reba Kate Ervin of Millington, the outstanding female athlete in the Kent County High School Class of 2021, is the Centennial Conference’s offensive player of the week for field hockey.

She scored three goals and assisted on two others for No. 11-ranked Bryn Mawr, which moved to 12-4 on the season and 5-3 in the conference following a 2-0 week.

Ervin went one-and-one and led all players with five shots — all on frame — as Bryn Mawr defeated Washington, 5-1, on Oct. 23.

Three days later, she contributed two goals, including the game-winner, along with an assist in a 3-0 shutout of Gettysburg.

Ervin, a captain, has started all 16 games this season for the Owls. She leads them with 15 points, and is tied for the lead with six goals.

Overall, she has appeared in 67 games with 65 starts. Her line includes 20 goals (seven game-winners), eight assists and 48 points.
