CHESTERTOWN — Kent School is inviting children and their parents to a series of fun Saturday morning sessions “designed to engage and stimulate the curious minds of children ages 8 and under,” according to a news release.
They will be held on Feb. 8, Feb. 22 and March 1.
There is no charge; everyone is welcome.
Parents should plan on staying on campus while their children participate.
Kent School is located at 6788 Wilkins Lane, near Chestertown.
On Feb. 8, from 9 to 11 a.m., Lower School science and Spanish teacher Meghan Ferster will lead “Explore More” for children ages 4 to 7. This session will give students a chance to explore and discover the science that is all around us using Kent School’s Chesapeake Bay Studies curriculum as a springboard.
On Feb. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the school gym, Director of Athletics and Facilities Erin Kent will lead “Gym Time Tumble and Climb” for children ages 6 and younger. This session will get kids moving through age-appropriate obstacle courses and exercise activities.
On March 1, Little School teachers Kelly Smith and Logan Stanley will present “Stories, Songs and Crafts.” Children ages 2 to 5 will have an opportunity to enjoy the planned activities, explore the space and bring home a handmade keepsake. This session will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Little School, which is Kent School’s designated age-appropriate space for young explorers.
All sessions are planned with several breaks so children can move around and explore the facilities and other campus features.
Tricia Cammerzell, assistant head of school for advancement, will be on hand to offer tours of Kent School to anyone interested.
