Rock Hall Legion to host Veterans Day parade, dinner

ROCK HALL — Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post 228 is bringing back its Veterans Day tradition of hosting a parade. The public is encouraged to attend and salute our heroes.

Lineup is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at the ballfields of the Rock Hall Lagoon neighborhood park.

The parade will step off at 10 a.m., led by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office color guard. Veterans will be marching and riding in vintage vehicles. There also will be fire trucks and maybe even a float.

The parade route is along Main Street onto Sharp Street, and will conclude at the Legion post home in the 21000-block of East Sharp Street.

Also on Saturday, Post 228 is hosting a dinner for veterans and their guests at no cost. The social hour will begin at 4 p.m., with dinner to follow at 5 p.m.
