CHESTERTOWN — The Democratic Club of Kent County invites the public to a candidate volunteer fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Minary’s Dream Alliance, 9155 American Legion Road near Chestertown.
This is an opportunity for residents to speak directly with candidates or their representatives and learn how volunteer efforts — large or small — can help campaigns between now and Election Day on Nov. 3.
Candidates or their representatives for the following offices have confirmed their attendance: Kent County Commissioner, Kent County State’s Attorney, state senator and delegates for District 36 [which includes all of Kent and Queen Anne’s counties and parts of Caroline and Cecil counties] and Maryland’s 1st Congressional District.
“This event will help community members connect with candidates who will appear on the November general election ballot. A thriving democracy depends on informed voters and civic participation,” a news release states.
Also, there will be pizza, beverages and music.
