Love the game

WORTON — Among the many life lessons we learn from sports is the value in celebrating small victories.

Kent County High School girls tennis coach Chanelle Copper and freshman Karoly Quevedo share in one of those small victories on Wednesday, April 8 after Quevedo and her doubles partner won their first game of the season in the match against Cambridge-South Dorchester.

Small victories remind us that it’s not always about the final score.

Resiliency, patience, confidence and motivation are nurtured when we allow ourselves to see and celebrate small victories.

“We’re off to a slow start with a lot of first-timers,” coach Copper told The Evening Enterprise. “But as the season goes along I expect the young ladies to grow and improve and learn the game of tennis.”
