ROCK HALL — The all-volunteer fire company here will host its annual New Year’s Day jump into the Chesapeake Bay, what’s known locally as “The Big Dip,” on Wednesday at about noon.
Everyone is invited.
Check-in and registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Ferry Park on Beach Road, Rock Hall. There will be music, hot chocolate and coffee, and cookies.
Challenge fundraisers and “celebrity” challenge fundraisers are welcome. All proceeds will benefit the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company.
A post on the RHVFC website states, “A little friendly competition and community spirit go a long way. By coming together for this chilly plunge, everyone can help support the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company.”
Registration forms can be picked up at the Rock Hall firehouse.
