March Madness

CHESTERTOWN — Kent County Middle School’s Family Engagement Council hosted an alumni basketball game on Friday night, March 15 as the culmination of the school’s Title I March MAP Madness Family Night.

It was a coed game, with the New School 29-and-younger team coached by Chanelle Copper soundly defeating the Old School team coached by Jim Beck, 86-37.

MAP stands for Measures of Academic Progress, a three-part test that measures student knowledge in reading, language usage and mathematics.
The event included exhibition games for girls and boys between KCMS and Centreville Middle School, a performance by the KCMS cheer team, raffles and a Footlocker “Hot Shot Contest.”
Tyray Johnson is the Title I liaison for Kent County Middle School, where Mark Buckel is the principal and Kelley Melvin is the assistant principal.
