WORTON — Kent County High School’s Brigade of Blue wrapped up two weeks of band camp Friday night, Aug. 30 with a performance for family members, followed by the “Turning Blue and Gold” ceremony where students received their ribbons for this year.
There are 26 musicians, led by band director Jodi Bortz, and a 12-member color guard, led by Mirelle Kraus.
This year’s theme is “Platforms and Polyesters,” featuring songs from the ’70s.
Joseph Donaldson is the drum major. Alden Swanson and Jeremy Fries are the assistant drum majors.
Amber Long returns as a captain of the color guard.
The Brigade of Blue will make its 2024-25 debut at halftime of the first home football game — Friday, Sept. 13 against Arcadia High School.
