Marcy Dunn Ramsey is featured artist for December at Massoni gallery

CHESTERTOWN — MassoniArt will hold an opening reception for Marcy Dunn Ramsey’s exhibition titled “Distillations ” from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 — First Friday — at its 203 High St. gallery.

According to a news release, the exhibition represents the work Ramsey created over the summer and fall months.

“Distillations” will be featured at the High Street gallery through the month of December.

Ramsey’s “cool blues and dancing reeds invite us to celebrate in the joys of winter,” the news release states.

Also featured will be work by ceramic artist Julia Weber Yensho, who is new to the gallery.

MassoniArt also is announcing the release of Ramsey and poet Meredith Davies Hadaway’s new book project titled “Small Craft Warning.”

The two share a love and appreciation for the Eastern Shore and its waterways.

“They work as advocates for our local rivers in the hopes that others will become good stewards of our waterways,” according to the news release.” Marcy and Meredith use their gifts to capture the beauty of inner and outer landscapes of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.”

A book party will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at the 203 High St. gallery.

MassoniArt’s annual holiday artists exhibit will be featured at the 113 S. Cross St. gallery.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
