‘Meet and greet’ Rock Hall council candidates

ROCK HALL — The League of Women Voters of Kent County and the Greater Rock Hall Business Association are co-sponsoring a “meet and greet” for the two candidates for the two open seats on the Rock Hall Town Council.

Incumbent Tim Edwards, who is seeking a third term, and first-time candidate Richard Faulkner are running unopposed.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 26 in the mayor and council meeting room at St. John’s Catholic Church hall on South Main Street, beginning at 6 p.m. (Plenty of parking is available in the adjacent lot at what was formerly the municipal building, 5585 South Main St.) Edwards and Faulkner will answer questions from the co-sponsors and the audience.

Faulkner will fill the seat currently held by Richard Seewald, who is not seeking election to a full four-year term.

Seewald was appointed in June 2023 to serve out the remainder of James Cook’s term after Cook, who had been elected to the council in 2021, subsequently won the mayoral race in May 2023.

This year’s Rock Hall’s election is Saturday, March 1.

The polling place is St. John’s Catholic Church hall, 5621 South Main St., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization dedicated to promoting informed and active citizen participation in government; it does not support or oppose any political parties or candidates for office.
