Monteleone is Harwood Fellowship in Journalism intern

CHESTERTOWN — Logan Monteleone, an English major and journalism, editing and publishing minor at Washington College, is interning with The Evening Enterprise for the month of May as a recipient of The Richard L. Harwood Fellowship in Journalism.

She will graduate Sunday, May 17 with the Class of 2026.

Monteleone is one of six finalists for the Sophie Kerr Prize, which will be awarded Friday night, May 15 to the graduating senior demonstrating the best potential for future achievement in a literary endeavor.

She has written for Washington College’s student newspaper, The Elm, throughout her college career, and in 2025-26 was editor of the news section.

She also has contributed to The Chestertown Spy.

After completing her internship with The Evening Enterprise, Monteleone will return for a second summer to The Press of Atlantic City, a daily regional newspaper in New Jersey.

The Richard L. Harwood Fellowship in Journalism is awarded annually to an editor of The Elm.

The fellowship underwrites a summer internship at a local news outlet as approved by the advisor of The Elm. The program provides the student with the opportunity to write articles about the community under the mentorship and guidance of a veteran editor and journalist.

Monteleone is The Evening Enterprise’s first Harwood Fellowship in Journalism intern.
