ROCK HALL — Pirates and Wenches Weekend, voted Best Tourist Attraction by local media, will celebrate its 18th year here on Friday, Aug. 8 through Sunday, Aug. 10.
“Come by land or come by sea to the Town of Rock Hall on the Isle of Delmarva located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay for a town-wide family event that you’ll never forget!” a news release states.
The entire town will be in the “pirate spirit” as merchants, reenactors, musicians and other performers take you back to the Golden Age of Piracy. There also will be plenty of grub and grog.

Jump start the weekend on Friday with rum tasting at Haven Harbour South (5 to 8 p.m.) and sea shanty sing-alongs at American Legion Post 228 (7 to 11 p.m.).
Visitors are encouraged to dine at any of Rock Hall’s award-winning restaurants, settle in and enjoy the night’s live entertainment offered by some of the local watering holes, or just relax under the stars.
