Chestertown Police

ASSAULT. Joshua Albert Sheppard, 45, Chestertown, on April 25, was served a district court arrest warrant charging him with third- and fourth-degree sex offenses; sex abuse of a minor; and second-degree assault. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond. 

MDOP. Shane Alexander Saunders, 22, Chestertown, on May 19, was served a district court summons for malicious destruction of property, with a value less than $1,000 (eight counts); and malicious destruction of property scheme, with a value more than $1,000. The offenses are alleged to have occurred April 15 in and around the 300-block of High Street. 

NEGLECT. Tiffany S. Kennard, 31, Chestertown, on May 22, was served a district court summons for neglect of a minor. The offense is alleged to have occurred April 19 on Schooner Way.

ASSAULT. PFC Eric Nunez, on May 27, responded to the 200-block of Edge of Town Drive for a reported assault. According to a CPD news release, the complainants were referred to the district court commissioner’s office if they wished to pursue charges.

ASSAULT. PFC Eric Nunez, on May 27, took a report of an assault in the 600-block of High Street. According to a CPD news release, the investigation is active.

 

Kent County Sheriff

PROBATION. Kendra Lynn Sisco, 39, Rock Hall, on May 20, was served a circuit court bench warrant for violation of probation. She initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

ASSAULT. Michael Lawrence Herman, 63, Galena, on May 22, was charged with second-degree assault (two counts); and resist, interfere with arrest. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond; on May 23, he was released on personal recognizance. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in the 14000-block of John Peel Road, Galena, where deputies responded to a reported disturbance. Herman is accused of assaulting Sgt. Nick Watson and DFC Samuel Manning.

ASSAULT. Charles Wesley Garrett, 44, Rock Hall, on May 25, was charged with first- and second-degree assault. He was released on $5,000 unsecured personal bond. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in the 5300-block of Crosby Road, Rock Hall. Deputy Shane Steppe investigated.

ASSAULT. Samuel Richard Black, 38, Kennedyville, on May 27, was served a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with first-degree assault (two counts); second-degree assault (three counts); reckless endangerment (two counts); use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime; possession of a rifle/shotgun with a felony conviction; and illegal possession of ammunition. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

MDOP. Sgt. Nick Watson is investigating a May 27 complaint of malicious destruction of property to a vehicle — broken window — in the 200-block of School Street, Millington. 

ESCAPE. Daniel Wayne Manley, 37, Rock Hall, on May 27, was served a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with first-degree escape. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

FTA. Lacy Kaye Morris, 36, Millington, on May 29, was served two circuit court bench warrants for failure to appear in court. She initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond on both warrants.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Morris was in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis (to wit: cocaine) and CDS paraphernalia when she was served the bench warrants. She was charged accordingly, and released.

FTA. Xavier Lamont Byrd, 24, Smyrna, Del., on May 29, was served a district court bench  warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on his own recognizance by the district court commissioner.

FTA. William Danford Cann III, 27, Chestertown, on May 29, was served a circuit court body attachment for failure to appear in court. Bond initially was set at $2,000.

ASSAULT. Tevron Eric Brown, 31, Worton, on May 30, was served a district court arrest warrant charging him with second-degree assault; and reckless endangerment. He was released by the district court commissioner on a $15,000 unsecured personal bond.

ASSAULT. Cpl. Parker Hudson is investigating a reported assault May 30 in the 22000-block of Lovers Lane, near Rock Hall.  According to a sheriff’s office news release, two people on the scene stated that they were assaulted by one another. They were referred to the district court commissioner’s office if they wished to pursue charges.

FTA. Shawn William Ellis, 32, Newark, Del., on May 31, was served a circuit court body attachment for failure to appear in court. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

DISTURBANCE. Lt. Scott Duhamell, on June 2, responded to the 12000-block of Main Street, Still Pond, for a reported physical disturbance. According to a sheriff’s office news release, it was determined through investigation that a “mutual affray occurred between two parties. Neither party wished to pursue charges.”
