Chestertown Police

THEFT. Dean Allen Webber, 54, Frederick, on June 5, was served a district court arrest warrant charging him with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle; conducting a theft scheme; and multiple counts of burglary, theft, rogue and a vagabond, and malicious destruction of property. 

He also was charged with driving, attempting to drive without required license and authorization.

Webber initially was held in the Frederick County Detention Center without bond.

The offenses are alleged have have occurred Jan. 12, 2024 in various locations in Chestertown.

BURGLARY. Mekhi Terrence Jenkins, 19, Kennedyville, on June 17, was served a district court arrest warrant charging him with second-degree burglary; theft, $1,500 to less than $25,000; burglary: fourth-degree theft; and malicious destruction of property having a value less than $1,000. He was released on unsecured personal bond of $10,000. 

On May 31, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both from Chestertown, were referred to Juvenile Services on similar complaints.

The offenses are alleged to have occurred May 31 in the Washington Square shopping center.

PFC Travis Burke investigated.

DISORDERLY. Chance Carter Goldsboro, 40, Chestertown, on June 12, was charged with disorderly conduct; and disturbing the peace. He was released on personal recognizance. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in the 500-block of Washington Avenue. Officer Ryan Thompson, Cpl. Chris Schwink and Lt. Steve Linz responded for a reported disturbance.

MDOP. PFC Meera Srinivasan, on June 20, took a report of malicious destruction of property in the 400-block of Morgnec Road. According to a CPD news release, the investigation is active.

THEFT. Officer Ryan Thompson, on June 25, took a report of theft in the area of Washington Square shopping center. According to a CPD news release, the investigation is active.

PHONE MISUSE. Charde Amanda Weaver, 30, Chestertown, on June 26, was served district court summonses for telephone misuse, obscene (two counts); and harass, a course of conduct. She was released on personal recognizance. 

 

Kent County Sheriff

ASSAULT. Lt. Scott Duhamell is investigating a reported assault June 17 in the 900-block of Gateway Drive, Chestertown. According to a sheriff’s office news release, the complainant reported being assaulted by a known suspect. The complainant was treated by Emergency Medical Services personnel at the scene.

FTA. Jerry Quinten Coppedge Jr., 25, Dover, Del., on June 23, was served a district court bench warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on his own recognizance by the district court commissioner.

BURGLARY. Zachary David Thompson, 37, Cambridge, on June 23, was served a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary; and malicious destruction of property having a value less than $1,000. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

FRAUD. Cpl. Dave Nolan is investigating an incident of identity fraud that was discovered on June 23 at a branch of the Peoples Bank after a fraudulent U.S. passport card was produced.
