Chestertown Police

RAPE. Eugene Vernon Bethel Jr., 33, Chestertown, on July 16 was served a district court arrest warrant charging him with second-degree rape; third- and fourth-degree sex offenses; sex abuse of a minor; and second-degree assault. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond. The offenses are alleged to have occurred July 8. Bethel allegedly engaged in a sexual act with a 10-year-old. 

DRUGS. William Dudley Thompson, 56, Chestertown, on July 17 was issued citations for possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis [to wit: methamphetamine]; and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was released on personal recognizance.

FTA. Zyon Montez James, 26, Church Hill, on July 27 was served a district court bench warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on personal recognizance.

MDOP. PFC Meera Srinivasan is investigating a July 28 reported incident of malicious destruction of property/vandalism [broken window] in the 100-block of North Mill Street.

 

Kent County Sheriff

FTA. Roshayla Brittany Miller, 33, Chestertown, on July 21 was served two circuit court bench warrants for failure to appear in court. She initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

PROBATION. Glenn Scott Kilpatrick, 55, Rock Hall, on July 21 was served a circuit court bench warrant for violation of probation. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

ASSAULT. Sgt. Travis Manning is investigating a reported assault July 22 in the 11000-block of Worton Road, Worton. According to a sheriff’s office news release, the complainant reported being assaulted by a known suspect.

BURGLARY. DFC Wayne Baker is investigating a burglary in the 31000-block of Millington Road, Millington, that was reported July 22. The complainant reported that their residence was burglarized sometime over the last month, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

PEACE ORDER. Christopher Jason Harper, 48, Chestertown, on July 24 was served a district court summons for violation of a peace order. He was released after signing for the summons.

THEFT. Deputy Pedro Rodriguez is investigating a July 25 theft of a 2026 Husqvarna motorcycle in the 10000-block of Chesterville Forest Road, Millington. 

PROBATION. Ryan Alan Carroll, 52, Warwick, on July 27 was served a district court bench warrant for violation of probation. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

MDOP. Cpl. Jordan Proudfoot is investigating July 27 incidents of damage to property on Middle Street, Millington. Several locations — private property, Kent County Government property and Maryland State Highway property — were spray painted.
