ASSAULT. Montrail Cortez Montgomery Jr., 29, Chestertown, on Jan. 1, was charged with first- and second-degree assault; and malicious destruction of property, having a value of more than $1,000. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in the 23000-block of Woods Edge Drive, near Fairlee.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, “Investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted which included apparent strangulation.”

FTA. Takira Amee Cassidy, 31, Bear, Del., on Jan. 3, was issued a Dorchester County District Court bench warrant for failure to appear in court. She was released on personal recognizance.

FTA. Tyrel Donta Dean, 39, Galena, on Jan. 4, was issued a circuit court body attachment for failure to appear in court. Bail initially was set at $1,000.

PROBATION. Danielle Lyn McClements, 45, Chestertown, on Jan. 4, was issued a district court bench warrant for violation of probation. She initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

ASSAULT. Deputies, on Jan. 4, responded to the 14000-block of East Beechwood Road, Galena for a reported assault. The complainant had “signs of injury,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Upon being taken into custody, the suspect allegedly assaulted one of the deputies.

According to the news release, the suspect was transported to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation.

DRUGS. Harry Lee Henry, 49, Chestertown, on Jan. 5, was issued a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with drug-related offenses including distribution of a narcotic (two counts); illegal possession of ammunition; illegal possession of a regulated firearm; and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence/felony. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

ASSAULT. Brian Tyler Pitts, 39, Townsend, Del., on Jan. 5, was issued a district court arrest warrant charging him with two counts of second-degree assault. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond, but on Jan. 8 was released on $10,000 unsecured personal bond.

PROBATION. Montrail Cortez Montgomery Jr., 29, Chestertown, on Jan. 5, was issued a circuit court bench warrant for violation of probation. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

DRUGS. Michael Antonio Kennard, 59, Chestertown, on Jan. 8, was issued a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with conspiracy to possess a narcotic with intent to distribute; conspiracy to distribute a narcotic; possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) that is not cannabis; and narcotic: production equipment.

During service of the warrant, Kennard was found to be in possession of a suspected CDS that is not cannabis. He was charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute in a school/school bus zone; possession of CDS that is not cannabis; possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.
