Chestertown Police

FRAUD. PFC Brandon McGinnis, on Jan. 10, took a report of fraud/personal identity theft in the 100-block of Silver Heel Drive. According to a CPD news release, the investigation is continuing.

THEFT. Cpl. Chris Schwink, on Jan. 12, was dispatched for a complaint of malicious destruction of property-involving a motor vehicle in progress. While Cpl. Schwink was on the scene, it was reported that three similar incidents had just occurred throughout town. Cpl. Schwink, Lt. Steve Linz and Kent County Sheriff’s Office units issued a “Be On The Lookout” broadcast for the suspect and suspect vehicle.

According to a CPD news release, it was later determined that the vehicle had been taken from the Kent Plaza parking lot and used in a string of other offenses.  

Charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT. Officer Ryan Thompson, on Jan. 15, took a report of an assault in the 100-block of Philosophers Terrace. According to a CPD news release, the complainant was referred to the District Court commissioner’s office to pursue charges.

ASSAULT. Shelita Sherell Hicks, 40, Chestertown, on Jan. 18, was issued a district court arrest warrant charging her with first- and second-degree assault; child abuse; and reckless endangerment. The offenses are alleged to have occurred Jan. 16 in the 100-block of Morgnec Road. On Jan. 22, Hicks was released from the Kent County Detention Center on $10,000 unsecured personal bond.

DRUGS. Nehemiah Elijah James Williams, 29, Chestertown, on Jan. 18, was issued an arrest warrant charging him with drug-related offenses including possession of heroin/fentanyl with intent to distribute. The offenses are alleged to have occurred Jan. 17 in the 100-block of Philosophers Terrace. Williams initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

RUNAWAY. A 12-year-old female from Chestertown, on Jan. 19, was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on a complaint of being a runaway. Officer Ryan Thompson investigated.

MDOP. Rhorder Lee Goldsborough Jr., 42, Chestertown, on Jan. 21, was issued a district court summons for malicious destruction of property, having a value less than $1,000. The offense is alleged to have occurred Jan. 15 in the 400-block of Morgnec Road.

Kent County Sheriff

ASSAULT. Diamond Sophronia Thompson, 27, Chestertown, on Jan. 18, was issued a district court summons for second-degree assault. She was released on personal recognizance.

DRUGS. Samuel Edward Hackett, 56, Worton, on Jan. 18, was issued a circuit court arrest warrant charging him with conspiracy to possess a narcotic with intent to distribute; and conspiracy to distribute a narcotic. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.
