Chestertown Police

ASSAULT. A 14-year-old female, on July 30, was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on a complaint of assault. The offense is alleged to have occurred in the 100-block of Scheeler Road. Officer Ryan Thompson investigated.

MDOP. PFC Brandon McGinnis, on Aug. 2, took a report of malicious destruction of property in the area of Manor Avenue. According to a CPD news release, the suspect was known to the complainant and the complainant does not wish to pursue charges.

ASSAULT. John Wesley Proud, 46, Baltimore, on Aug. 7, was charged with second-degree assault. He was released on personal recognizance. The offense is alleged to have occurred July 21 in the 100-block of Flatland Road.

FTA. Marquis Dante Moals, 29, Chestertown, on Aug. 8, was served a bench warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on $3,500 bond.

THEFT. Officer Travis Burke, on Aug. 11, took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 200-block of Calvert Street. The vehicle has been located, according to police.

MDOP. Officer Travis Burke, on Aug. 12, took a report of malicious destruction of property in the 100-block of Morgnec Road. According to a CPD news release, the complainant was referred to the District Court Commissioner’s Office to file charges.

THEFT. A bike was reported stolen Aug. 12 in the 300-block of Calvert Street. The bike was located, according to police.
