CHESTERTOWN — The Presbyterian Church of Chestertown knitting group, made up of church members and friends, gets together every Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m to “knit unto others” and enjoy fellowship.
They knit prayer shawls for those who are grieving or sick, and hats, mittens, scarves and stuffed animals for the Kent County Food Pantry and those who are less fortunate.
This holiday season, group members showed their support for Kent County Public Schools’ 3-year-old pre-kindergarten program that occupies space at the church, located at 905 Gateway Drive, by knitting hats for all of the students as well as the staff.
