Rebuilding Together to host ‘Volunteer Event’ to kick off 20th year

CHESTERTOWN — Rebuilding Together Kent County will kick off its 20th year with a volunteer event on Monday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Amy Lynn Ferris Adult Activity Center, 200 Schauber Road, Chestertown.

Volunteers are vital to the nonprofit’s stated mission of “repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives.”

The RTKC team will share some of their history, review safety guidelines and invite feedback on their plans for 2024.

Current and prospective volunteers are encouraged to attend.

According to a news release, the focus will be how volunteers of all skill levels can be involved, including skilled project leaders, general construction volunteers, materials managers, food team, event planners, office helpers and other logistical support.

This also will be the first opportunity to learn how you can help administer the countywide housing survey that is being launched this year.

“Join the movement to help more of our neighbors live in safe and healthy homes,” the news release states.

To RSVP, email or call 410-778-4544.
