CHESTERTOWN — How many of us rushed outside with camera in hand midday Sunday as snowflakes swirled around in the breeze.

The snow didn’t amount to anything, but a west wind hung around all afternoon in Kent County — with gusts as high as 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast for tonight is mostly cloudy, with a low temperature around 21 degrees and northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

On Monday, Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there is a slight chance of snow after 10 a.m. The forecast is for mostly cloudy skies, with a high temperature just above freezing.

According to the National Weather Service, the chance of snow Monday night is “likely.” The chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.

Forecasters also are calling for possible snow on Tuesday.
