ROCK HALL — Acting on an inquiry made by Town Manager Bob Middleton, members of the Garden Club of Rock Hall spruced up the plantings in the brick flower boxes at the entrance to the town office building on Rock Hall Avenue [also known as state Route 20].
Jean Hirst and Heather Ransom spearheaded the project that was completed in one day, June 18. Old plantings were manicured; weeds were removed; humus/compost and mulch was put down; and new yellow and pink hostas and perennials were planted.
In addition to Hirst and Ransom, the gardeners were Chris Catlett [incoming president], Marilyn Wilwol, Sarah Gifford, Kathy Daly, Jean Warner and Anne Yowell.
