CHESTERTOWN — The Chestertown Rotary Club will hold its eighth annual Soup & Sip from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at Chester River Yacht & Country Club.
Proceeds will benefit Kent County Public Schools’ visual arts programs.
The event will feature local eateries offering samplings of their signature crab soups — cream of crab and Maryland crab — in addition to a variety of local wines.
Participants include The Kitchen at the Imperial, Watershed Alley, Chester River Yacht & Country Club, The Flying Decoy, The Fish Whistle, Osprey Point, Harbor Shack, Molly’s, Deep Blue at the Kitty Knight and Luisa’s Cucina Italiana.
Also, attendees will vote for their favorite soup and there will be a raffle for a special wine, crab and soup basket of treasures.
Your $25 admission includes a keepsake wine glass, 10 tastings and a raffle ticket.
Tickets will be available at the door; no advance purchase is needed.
CRY&CC is located at 7738 Quaker Neck Road, Chestertown.
The event is a win-win for the community, according to Jamie Williams, Rotary project chair.
She said it is a chance “to enjoy incredible local food, connect with friends and neighbors, and — most importantly — support our students by giving them the tools and opportunities to grow in the visual arts.”
Rotary Club President David White added, “The arts are an essential part of learning, helping students discover new ways to express themselves and connect with others. By joining us at Soup & Sip, you’re making a direct impact on the lives of young people right here in Kent County.”
