Run for Character 5K is Oct. 14 in Rock Hall

ROCK HALL — A 5K run/walk with some of the proceeds to benefit Rock Hall Elementary School’s fine arts programs and the Character Counts! program in all of Kent County’s public schools will be held Saturday, Oct. 14.

Some of the proceeds also will benefit The Mainstay, a nonprofit live music venue on Rock Hall’s Main Street.

The Run for Character is held in conjunction with the annual FallFest, which offers activities for children, live music, and plenty of food and craft vendors as Rock Hall celebrates its heritage as a waterman’s town.

There will be a free “Kiddie K” for runners 10 and younger. The race will start at 8:50 a.m. at Waterman’s Crab House restaurant and dock bar on East Sharp Street. All Kiddie K finishers will receive a participation ribbon.

The 5K will follow at 9 a.m., rain or shine. The cost is $25 if you register by Oct. 6, and $30 after that date and on race day.
